Fitzgerald of the Giants is keen to advance to the leadoff hitter position.

While supporters and the media have been urging Giants manager Bob Melvin to switch leadoff hitter Jorge Soler out for the increasingly explosive Tyler Fitzgerald, not everyone thinks that's the best course of action. in particular, Fitzgerald. The 26-year-old feels it's far too early to think about making a change, despite being in the best run of his brief major league career and swinging the hottest bat in the Giants' lineup. After San Francisco's 11-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night, Fitzgerald told reporters at Oracle Park, "Personally I don't really care where I'm at, if I'm in the one or the nine." "I'm content as long as I'm in there. "I simply come here to work each day. When Soler bats for a long time and I can pick up the pitcher in the on-deck circle, it definitely makes things easier. However, I don't think that I should automatically start at first base after this run. I still have a lot t...

After clinching the NBA championship in Boston, the Celtics are set to continue their celebration in Miami.

Before their championship parade in Boston later this week, the Celtics are scheduled to celebrate in Miami. Just hours after securing their record-breaking 18th NBA championship with a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Boston on Monday night, the Celtics are set to take a noon flight to Miami on Tuesday to continue the festivities.

According to reporters in Boston, "Noon FLT to Miami" was noted on the whiteboard in the Celtics' locker room following the win at TD Garden.

"Celtics are headed to Miami for a few days to party," Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe posted on X late Monday night. "Parade [in Boston] is expected to be this Friday."

On the surface, a trip to Miami after winning the NBA title shouldn't come as a surprise, given Miami's renowned nightlife. However, considering Miami is home to one of the Celtics' biggest rivals, this post-championship trip is noteworthy. The Heat and Celtics have faced off in the playoffs four times in the last five seasons: the Heat eliminated the Celtics in the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics defeated the Heat in the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals, the Heat ousted the Celtics in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, and the Celtics quickly dispatched the Heat in the first round of this year's playoffs.

While the Celtics are heading to Miami, one member of the Heat was present for the Celtics' title-clinching win in Boston on Monday. Udonis Haslem, who retired at the end of the 2022-23 season after a 20-year career with the Heat, was at TD Garden for his NBA TV broadcasting duties, interviewing Celtics players, coaches, and executives amid their celebration. Additionally, former Heat guard Ray Allen, who won a championship with the Celtics in 2008 before joining the Heat in 2012, was in Boston to watch the Celtics' victory.

The Heat ended the Celtics' season in Boston last year, but this year, the Celtics are taking a three-hour flight to Miami to celebrate their first NBA championship in over a decade.
