Fitzgerald of the Giants is keen to advance to the leadoff hitter position.

While supporters and the media have been urging Giants manager Bob Melvin to switch leadoff hitter Jorge Soler out for the increasingly explosive Tyler Fitzgerald, not everyone thinks that's the best course of action. in particular, Fitzgerald. The 26-year-old feels it's far too early to think about making a change, despite being in the best run of his brief major league career and swinging the hottest bat in the Giants' lineup. After San Francisco's 11-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night, Fitzgerald told reporters at Oracle Park, "Personally I don't really care where I'm at, if I'm in the one or the nine." "I'm content as long as I'm in there. "I simply come here to work each day. When Soler bats for a long time and I can pick up the pitcher in the on-deck circle, it definitely makes things easier. However, I don't think that I should automatically start at first base after this run. I still have a lot t...

Five Insights on the Chiefs' 2024 Schedule Before the NFL's Official Announcement

Here’s a nod to the NFL.

No other sports league can generate as much excitement about its scheduled release as the NFL. The complete schedule will be unveiled on Wednesday night, but the NFL started releasing some details on Monday.

This strategy has kept sports-talk shows centered on the NFL this week, even with the NBA and NHL playoffs ongoing and Major League Baseball in full swing.

Here are five things to know about the Chiefs' schedule ahead of the full release.

Another Christmas Game

The Chiefs had a Christmas game last year, and the NFL has scheduled them for another one. This year, they will face the Steelers in Pittsburgh, with the game streaming on Netflix and also airing locally in Kansas City.

Since Christmas falls on a Wednesday, the NFL has decided that any team playing on that day will also have a game the preceding Saturday, ensuring players have sufficient rest. This is the NFL's reasoning.

For the Chiefs, their Saturday game will likely be against the Texans, as Houston is set to play the Ravens on Christmas.

Two Monday Night Games

ESPN broadcaster Joe Buck announced on "Good Morning America" that the Chiefs will have two "Monday Night Football" games. According to Saints reporter John Hendrix, one of these games is scheduled for October 7.

Tough Schedule

No matter the sequence of their games, the Chiefs face the 19th toughest schedule according to the NFL.

Sharp Football Analysis, which bases the strength of the schedule on projected win totals from oddsmakers, ranks the Chiefs’ schedule as the 12th most difficult.

The Opponents

The Chiefs will host eight games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and play nine on the road this season.

The following teams are scheduled to visit Arrowhead Stadium: Bengals, Broncos, Buccaneers, Chargers, Raiders, Ravens, Saints, and Texans.

On the road, the Chiefs will face the Bills, Broncos, Browns, Chargers, Falcons, Panthers, Raiders, Steelers, and 49ers.

Home and Away Matchups

The NFL has confirmed that the Chiefs will kick off the season against the Ravens in the NFL Kickoff Game. This highly anticipated matchup will take place on September 5th at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs will unveil their Super Bowl LVIII championship banner. NBC will broadcast the game.

In Week 2, the Bengals are scheduled to visit Kansas City on September 15th at 3:25 p.m., airing on CBS. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will probably provide commentary for this game.

With their first two games at home, the Chiefs will play nine of their final 15 games away from Kansas City.

It appears likely that they will conclude the regular season with an away game.

Bonus: Speculation Circuit

According to Eric Branch from the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chiefs are set to face the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch on October 20, likely in Week 7.

If broadcasted on Fox, this game might mark the first occasion for Chiefs fans to hear Tom Brady commentating on their match.

Speculations from a few sources suggest that the Chiefs might play against the Raiders in Amazon Prime's Black Friday game, the day following Thanksgiving.

If these speculations turn out to be accurate (though it's wise to remain cautious), it would signify that the Chiefs are scheduled to play at least one game on every day of the week except Tuesday in the upcoming season.

Zach Klein, a sports director at an Atlanta television station, indicated that the Falcons would welcome the Chiefs for a matchup in Week 3.

NFL reporter John Schultz disclosed that the Bills are slated to host the Chiefs in Week 11.
